Mississippi Golf Cart Laws (2026): City Streets, Decals, Insurance and LSVs

Mississippi lets golf carts on public streets only where a city or town has opened them by ordinance, inside city limits. Carts and LSVs need a city registration decal on the left rear fender, a driver with a license or permit and proof of 25/50/25 insurance, and they may only cross state and US highways. Here is what the 2021 law says, why counties can't open their roads (except one DeSoto County subdivision), how DOR treats golf carts and LSVs, and what towns like Ocean Springs, Long Beach and Farmington add.
