Editorial Policy
This page explains how Golf Cart Clinic researches, writes, updates and corrects its content.
Sources we use
- Technical guides: manufacturer owner's and service manuals, service bulletins, published troubleshooting charts, and battery and component makers' documentation (for example, battery manufacturers' watering and voltage charts).
- Laws and regulations: the statute text from the official state legislature website and guidance from the state agency responsible (such as a DMV or highway safety department). We link to both, and we note that cities and counties can add their own rules.
- Retailer and community sources: used only when no official source exists, and always labeled as such (for example, our explanation of E-Z-GO manufacturer's codes).
What we don't do
- We don't invent statistics, test results, prices, quotes or credentials.
- We don't claim hands-on testing unless we actually did it, and we describe exactly what was tested.
- We don't let advertisers or affiliate partners review or approve content.
- We don't publish legal conclusions about your specific situation. For that, ask your local law enforcement agency, your DMV or an attorney.
How guides are structured
Each guide starts with a short answer, lists the tools and skill level needed, then goes through checks from the simplest and safest to the most involved. Safety warnings appear before the step they apply to. Sources are listed at the end of each guide.
Use of software tools
We may use software, including AI-assisted tools, to help with research, outlines or editing. A person on the editorial team checks every fact against the cited sources before publication and is responsible for what we publish.
Updates
Each guide shows its publish date, and an "Updated" date when we revise it. We review legal pages when legislatures pass relevant changes and update technical guides when manufacturers publish new information or readers report problems.
Corrections
If you find an error, email [email protected] with the page link and, if possible, a source. We fix confirmed errors promptly. If a correction changes the meaning of a guide, we note it on the page.
