Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains what information Golf Cart Clinic ("we", "us") collects when you visit golfcartclinic.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email [email protected].
Information you give us
- Contact form and email: your name, email address and message, used only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
- Comments: the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address for spam prevention. Your name and comment are shown publicly once approved; your email address is never published.
- Newsletter (if offered): your email address, used only to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: like most websites, our web server records IP addresses, browser type, pages requested and timestamps for security and troubleshooting. Logs are kept for a limited time.
- Content delivery and security (Cloudflare): the site is delivered through the Cloudflare network, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages quickly and block attacks. Cloudflare may also measure page-load performance with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies.
- Page view counts: we count how many times each guide is viewed. This count is not linked to your identity.
- Cookies we set: a small local storage entry remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice. A session cookie is set only if you submit a form or log in to the site's admin area, and is used for security (CSRF protection).
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We plan to show ads served by Google and possibly other advertising partners. When ads are enabled:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Where the law requires it (for example for visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland), ads will only be personalized after you give consent through a consent message.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve our guides. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the site (for example a search engine or a link), time on page, clicks and scrolling, your browser, device type, operating system, screen size, language and approximate location (country, region or city) derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and we do not send Google Analytics your name, email address or other information that directly identifies you.
- Cookies: Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on golfcartclinic.com, named
_gaand_ga_<container-id>, which store a random identifier so visits from the same browser can be counted together. By default these cookies last up to 2 years. - Retention: user-level Google Analytics data is kept for 2 months (the shortest retention period Google offers); aggregated reports may be kept longer.
- Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: analytics and advertising cookies are disabled by default for these regions using Google Consent Mode, so Google Analytics does not set cookies on your device.
- How Google uses this data: see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Opting out: you can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Spam and bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
To keep spam and automated attacks out of our contact form, comment form, newsletter sign-up and admin sign-in, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a security service provided by Cloudflare, Inc. Turnstile runs only on pages with one of these forms; on guide pages it loads only when you scroll to or start using the comment form. To tell people from bots, Turnstile processes technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address, browser (user agent) and connection details. It does not read what you type into the form, and Cloudflare says it does not use cookies to collect or store information and does not use these signals to identify, profile or target individuals or for advertising. We use this processing because it is strictly necessary to protect the site and its visitors. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Privacy Policy. If Turnstile cannot load, the form shows a simple question instead, handled entirely on our own server.
Affiliate links
Some links may be affiliate links. If you click one, the retailer may set a cookie so it can credit us for a purchase. See our affiliate disclosure.
How we share information
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site (such as our web host, our email provider and Cloudflare for spam protection), with advertising and analytics partners (such as Google) as described above, or when required by law.
Your choices and rights
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information you've given us (for example a comment or a message) by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, including California and other US states with privacy laws, you may have additional rights. We will honor verified requests as the law requires.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and retention
We use HTTPS throughout the site and keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes, for example when advertising is turned on. The "last updated" date on this page shows when it last changed.
