Louisiana Golf Cart Laws (2026): Designated Roads, OMV Decal, Insurance and LSVs
Louisiana keeps golf carts off public roads except parish roads and town streets that a parish or municipality has designated and signed. Carts driven there must be titled with OMV as off-road vehicles with a decal, insured at 15/30/25, fitted with lights and turn signals and driven by a licensed driver. Here are the state highway crossings named in law, the OMV paperwork, the LSV rules and what Bossier Parish, Haughton and Golden Meadow add.
